Q & A's

I've been getting lots of questions lately, so I thought I would answer them all in a fun Q & A fashion.

Q: Are you pregnant?
A: Yes.

Q: How far along are you?
A: Check out the floating baby, but today I am 17 weeks 6 days.

Q: When is your due date?
A: December 3rd, 2009.

Q: How are you feeling?
A: Great! No morning sickness for about 2 months now. Energy is back too!

Q: Are you finding out what you are having?
A: Heck yes! I am such a planner I would go crazy not knowing!

Q: When do you find out?
A: Lord willing, in exactly a week!!!!!!!!!!

Q: Do you want a boy or girl?
A: Not going to lie - having the first granddaughter on either side would be a priviledge, but I am excited for either!

Q: Do you have names picked out?
A: Somewhat, although Justin said he wants to wait until we find out because he doesn't want to have two fights, just one. :) (There will be no fight. It's quite simple. He will like the names I pick. Ha!)

Q: Do you have anything for the nursery yet?
A: Nothing big. We are waiting to find out the sex before we do anything major.

Q: Do your pants still fit?
A: Surprisingly yes but it's much more comfortable to wear the maternity style.

Q: Where is your baby belly?
A: Underneath all my crazy strong ab muscles...yea right!!! I have such a long torso I hope it pops out more obviously eventually!

Q: Are you going to keep working?
A: Right now my plan is not to come back to my current job, but if something part time pops up for after, then I might look into that.

Comment me if I missed any questions you need to know the answers to :)

Hurrah for Garage Sales

Success! The garage sale, that is. This has been the smoothest year of the Annual Cornell Garage Sale in trying to organize everyone and everything! It was a lot of work and hopefully everyone had a good time and was happy with the amount of $ they made. We were the tacky people that left the unwanted furniture, etc. on the side of the curb in hopes someone would take them...and not 5 minutes after we got back from the Goodwill run, my neighbor came by and took a lot of it! Then by this afternoon, the rest of it was gone. Thank you thrifty curb shoppers. We love you.

After the sale and a long shower later, we were bolting our way to Norman to try to make the Morman Tabernacle Choir concert at OU. Justin had purchased tickets with his co-worker and was excited to go. I, on the other hand, was a little tired and cranky but I tried to keep my spirits up. The concert was fantastic - my favorite was Amazing Grace with the bagpipe solo. We didn't have the best view...but when it's music, I guess it doesn't matter! The only bad part - we didn't get home until 11pm!! I was falling asleep in the car.

Today was my day of rest...and rest I did! After a filling lunch at Ted's, I came home and took a 4 hour nap!! It was so great and much needed. Now I'm ready to face another week at work. We don't get Friday off like a lot of people, but atleast it will just be a normal half day. Have a happy Monday!

Crazy, Fun Weekend

This past weekend was a whirlwind! I had a great time though and hit the bed hard when it was over. I barely got up for Monday morning work!! The amazing-ness started Thursday afternoon when I was picked up early from work so my cousins, sister, mom, aunt and I could go on our girls trip to Frisco, TX! On the way down, we stopped at Babe's, this awesome fried chicken place in Sanger. We filled up on such good food!! The next day, the shopping began!
We must be related because we all coordinated on Saturday! Hilarious!

We went to every outlet store, IKEA, Sam Moon and everywhere in between! We also had a good time staying with our family friend Jeanie. It was so nice and relaxing. Between the 6 of us shopping, we had our rental van stuffed to the gills on the way back.

After we left Frisco, we flew back to OKC so Justin & I could make it to Blake & Kacee's wedding. What a gorgeous wedding it was. Very sweet!

Sunday, Justin and I got up bright and early (5 am!!) to drive to Neosho, MO to help celebrate Grandpa and Grandma Cornell's 60th wedding anniversary at their church. It was nice to see them and of course Grant, Brei & boys and Barbara & Dan. We left about 3:30ish and made it back to OKC by about 6ish.

The Cornell clan.

Crazy Cornell men.

It was a great long weekend, but I can do without all that driving for quite awhile!

Do you ever have days where you get to work and you think to yourself, "Why did I wear this today? Or ever?" And then you are stuck in your outfit for the next 8.5 hours.

I have those days. A lot.

Things that make me Happy!!

1. I just ate the best peach ever.

2. While at work today, I was up front getting supplies, I overhead our survey guys tell our receptionist that there is a guy outside who was wandering out back and not to let him in - something was a little off. Being the nosy person I am, I go up front to make sure she is alright (because awesome guys LEFT her up front by herself) and this large guy walked in and asked for some coffee (at 4:30 in the p.m. when it's 95 degrees outside) and a job. Luckily we have a "deputy" in our survey dept so he was quickly called and no one was hurt. Hurray!! You know you want my job. (I know it sounds a little extreme, but trust me. It wasn't.)

3. WOW Class - TOMORROW NIGHT!!! I am structuring everything in my week around Wednesday nights now. Last week we ran a bit late and got the 2nd to last row - you can count on me being in the middle this week so I can be blasted with singing! (This is also your invitation that if you would like to come to an hour long praise time, you are officially invited. It's AWESOME). Two weeks in a row I have been so disappointed with my Tuesday because I woke up thinking it was Wednesday...

And last but not least...

4. It's a short work week...My cousins, sister, mom & aunt are all leaving Thursday night to go down to Frisco - home of...This is a much needed, much planned, and much anticipated weekend trip!!! I.Can.Not.Wait!!

It's Time to Relax

As much as I love weekends, they always seem to be so busy! Friday night was my planned "stay at home and do nothing" night, but that turned into garage sale preview and dinner with my mom, sister & Justin. Saturday was full of garage sales and a wedding at MRCC. After that I felt the urge to go shopping for some dresses that would actually fit me and then Justin & I were going to watch a movie, but then got an invitation to eat dinner with friends. I, for one, can never resist that! Sunday was then going to be my "stay at home and do nothing day", but once I got to church, I realized I had a lot of things to attend! Such as a baby shower and a meeting for the school store. In between all that, we had no food so a trip to Wal-mart was in my near afternoon future.

So tonight...here it is. My stay at home and do nothing evening. I'm trying to ignore that our grass once again looks like a small jungle, our flowers could definitely use some water, it's been weeks since I've really cleaned, dishes could be washed and laundry needs to be folded. But this is my night that I've been waiting for since...awhile. I'm not going to do a dang thing!

Need a Job?

It's been decided, and I have officially started the countdown to the last day of work. The decision was kind of made for me when I didn't want to work the 30 hours that would be considered part time for my position and I think it was God just showing me that I don't need to be working - at least right now. Maybe in the future...all that to say - does anyone need a full time job working at a civil engineering firm as an assistant project coordinator? I don't know when they will start looking for my replacement, but I'm sure it will be soon. If you know of anyone, just let me know!

Cravings & Aversions

Growing up, a lot of what I learned from being pregnant was from watching Becky on Full House be pregnant with twins. I thought that you needed to tell your husband by giving him baby corn, baby shrimp and other "baby" foods to clue him in of the future 9 months. I also remember the episode where she just HAD to have that right flavor of potato chips at her baby shower and had a total meltdown when he didn't get the right ones. The guys wouldn't even back him up. Anyway, so far, I really haven't had too many issues with food. I went for a good 3 week run of eating watermelon about 2-3 times a day and the latest, caffeine free Diet Coke. Does it really matter that I've never really drank Diet Coke, yet all of a sudden it's what I really need to quench my thirst? I really am not feeling spaghetti sauce and not a huge fan of beef, but for the most part - nothing too crazy. I'm just waiting for the time where it's 10:30 at night and I just HAVE to have pickles and ice cream. When does that part come? :)

Baby Bump at 14.5 weeks

(I think my shirt just makes it look bigger than it really is!!)

Scare-dy Cat

As a normal routine, when I get home, I let Caramel outside to play. She absolutely loves it out there but I am so paranoid about her getting hurt that I only let her outside when we are home or during prime "cool" hours of the day so she doesn't bake. (Thoughtful, I know.) So I let her outside tonight and come back in to work on the crock pot dinner that's been baking all day. We decided to go out tonight to fix a problem at the rent house and then go to the hospital to see Nana. We do all of that and then add in some great ice cream time at Braum's with my parents. So, realizing it's getting dark and remembering suddenly that Carmy is still outside (it's a rule that she comes in at dark...we are so strict with our fur child), we come home to get her in. We pull up and I go to the back door to see if she is there. Well, she isn't - but that's not a big deal. She is normally good and comes when we call her. But this time I didn't hear her collar jingle or anything, so I call her again and I hear the jingle coming from our neighbors side. Caramel is infamous for being in her yard so I wasn't too worried. Well, then I see these cat eyes from a little higher than normal - and I pretty much pass out. Not really...but Caramel has somehow gotten up on our neighbor's ROOF!!!! If I hadn't been 2 seconds away from a dead faint that my baby fur girl was up ridiculously high, I would have gotten the camera. Instead I start screaming for Justin to come get her!!! Well Caramel is happy to see us and she starts ROLLING around on the roof, like, come pet my belly. I could just imagine her rolling off the edge so I'm telling her to stop (and of course she understands perfectly what I'm saying.) Justin finally coaxes her to the edge and grabs her off. I yank her away from him and run her into the house. She is soooo grounded. Literally.

2 Posts in 1

Nana went into surgery today about 3 pm and about 5:45 she came out - she did very well from what the doctor said! For her being 87 and going through a long surgery, God definitely had His hand in this situation. I had to go to a meeting soon after that so I didn't see her, but she is now in recovery!! I would appreciate any prayers you could offer for her - it's going to be a really long road for her - and my family...

************************************************

In other REALLY fun news!! I had an appointment today (14 weeks tomorrow!) and heard the baby's heart beat - 155 bpm. Yay!! We went over a ton of my questions and since we watched "The Business of Being Born" yesterday night with some other preggos, I wanted to get my dr's views on inducing and other various aspects of delivering a baby. So far, I feel pretty good with her as my doctor. The most fun part of my visit was that we get to find out what we are having on JULY 7th!!!!!! Hurrah! The countdown can begin.

Bad News Bears

Please pray for my Nana - she fell and broke her hip today. I'm not sure what the full story is behind the fall, but I think it was due to her A/C being out in her apartment at Tealridge and she wanted to open a window to let in a breeze. Somehow she lost her balance and fell, cutting her arm and banging her head along the way. To make things a little worse, this is her "good" hip...she was taken to the hospital and will have surgery tomorrow...it's just a long road ahead of her now and who knows when she'll be able to walk again.
