More Cheese, Please

We made it 2 years!!!

Monday night my parents took Justin and I to the Melting Pot in Bricktown for our 2nd year anniversary. My parents have both been to one in Delaware, but Justin and I have never experienced the deliciousness that is the Melting Pot. We decided to get the Big Night Out (because, of course, it was very fitting) which consisted of cheese fondue, salad, entree cooked in broth of your choice, and of course, chocolate fondue for dessert!! This is a wonderful place to go, but just be careful with the raviolis, they tend to get lost easily in the mix. Thanks Mom & Dad for a really fun evening!!

Yummy Beer Cheese Fondue

How you cooked your main dish.

The four of us after we are stuffed with goodness!

Happy Halloween everyone! We are off to the North's tonight for their annual Halloween bash and then home to pass out candy! Every one have a safe night!!!

Heyyy Youuuuu Guyyyyys

Friday night we went to the Chesapeake Haunted House with Erin & Tarren. CHK does this haunted house every year and gives ALL the proceeds to United Way. Pretty cool. It has been years since I've gone to haunted house and I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was cheap and fun and so of course that is right up our alley. We ate hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner and loaded up on the free candy. They also had a FREE photo booth where you could take 6 pics of yourself with funny faces.

I can't ever think of fun faces to make before the camera goes off!

Count the hamburger!

Isn't my head HUGE compared to everyone else's???? So the employees of CHK create rooms for you to walk through. It was pretty scary!! There was a corn field (Children of the Corn) where we got a nice scare from Gavan Byrd, The Ring room where a girl/something was crawling out of the well, a surgical room where the surgery went WAY wrong, etc. The groups had gotten pretty creative and we got quite a few scares. It was kind of disappointing when it was over - we wanted more! It's hard to take in all the details where your concentrating on trying to not be scared!!

After the HH, we went to try to find a small coffee shop to just sit and chat. We ended up finding the Coco Flow (I think that's what it was called) on Western and everything was made of chocolate! It was a cute place and even had live music. Justin and I realized how much we live in a bubble and don't venture out to find new, cute places like that. We vow to do better.

I Heart Huckabee

We had the honor of going to listen to former Governor Mike Huckabee (thanks Allison for the tickets!!) It was a really good time to listen to him speak about his journey & defeat in the election and how he struggles with Type II Diabetes and is a 4 time marathon runner. He's also a former Baptist preacher, family man and a great politician. He is a very funny guy and had us laughing a lot of the time. I hope he tries to run again for President in 2012.

Unfortunately we didn't get to meet him but we got a few shots of him signing his book. I might have to rent the book one day from the library, but I didn't want to fork over $30 to meet him. I'm cheap. We had a blast though (especially listening to the person next to us "guffawing" at his jokes)!!

I never was a political person and I still don't think I am now. I'm just concerned about our nation and what's going to happen in a week. I believe that every vote is important and I want to make an educated decision. I know that ultimately everything is in God's hands and He is in control.

I might have to get used to politics - if Justin ever runs for City Council like he says :)

Seeya Later!

Last Monday we went to spend the evening with our friends Jonathan, Candice & Cole Forte who moved to North Carolina at the end of last week. We had our traditional pizza dinner with salad - my favorite! Let me tell you that Jonathan LOVES salad and always eats the biggest bowl of it (Think the biggest Pyrex mixing bowl you have). I've never met anyone who loves salad that much and it makes me laugh every time!

We had a really good time with them - I'm sad that they are gone. We'll have to make a trip to NC, I guess! Darn :)

Here is a pic of our last group shot together (minus Cole). We miss you already Fortes but wish you the best of luck in your new place!!

Our Fuzzy Girl

I just thought I would share a few cute pics of Caramel since she is the baby in our family.

Does she look comfortable?

Nosy thing.

This is where she spends majority of her day - wishing she was outside. Aren't we mean. :)
Caramel has been having a hard time lately. The other night it was dark in our house and she blended in like dark kitties do. Justin went running to get his phone in the kitchen...and oops- didn't see Carmy, which results in her getting a nice face kick.
She also has had a few run ins lately with doors/footboards/window blinds. We hope she doesn't turn stupid...but we love our kitty - she is our favorite!

Pumpkins

Since I missed the JSO Girls Night Out last Thursday, I had to paint my own pumpkins and here are the results! Not too bad on the white one (I got excited on the "S"), but the orange one is a little lacking in creativity and symmetry. :) Maybe my excuse can be was that I wasn't feeling well?

On another note, my family is trying to think of alternative things to do for Christmas besides doing the traditional spend as much money as you can thing - any fun ideas?

We're On the Bandwagon

Just like everyone else :) We hope that this blog will help keep us connected with our friends and family while we try to manage our crazy busy lives!

Hopefully this won't be foreshadowing, but I don't know what to write about for my first post - so I'll just recap the last few fun days in our lives.

We went to the Music Builds Tour with Jerad and Brooklyn Lovett and had an absolute blast! We got to see Jars of Clay, Robert Randolph & the Family Band (??), Switchfoot and THIRD DAY! I'm now in love with Mac Powell.

We had our 2nd year anniversary on 10/14/08 and to celebrate, we went to go see the first OKC Thunder game (pre-season) also with Jerad and Brooklyn. It was fun, but they ended up losing to the LA Clippers and it took me about a half an hour to find the pony-tailed cotton candy man.

Sunday we had a fun time with our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving party. You can see the pics here .

Justin would like to give a shoutout to his peeps. "Hi."
