I Need a Weekend from My Weekend

This weekend was one of the busiest we've had in a long time. Friday night we had plans with friends, then Saturday morning we got up to help move my Nana's stuff from Tealridge to Jefferson Garden's. I didn't do a whole lot, but I was there to "supervise" and of course, hold the door open for everyone else who was doing actual work.

Then my sister and I went to the fairgrounds and checked out the 50% off sale for Just Between Friends. I have never gone to this before but I was actually impressed with the organization and selection they had. I bought Haylie some clothes (probably too many) but oh well. I barely spent any money though!! My favorite purchase was my most expensive purchase for her (whooping $3) - black patent leather shoes. With bows!! How cute are they?!

Then Sunday was the start of Financial Peace. We had to be at the church at 3:30 just to get set up and organized, not to mention the prep work before we got there. But Justin did a great job with the pre-organization and everything went really smooth. Which, if you are interested in FPU but don't want to 100% commit, you are always welcome to come sit in for a class or two to see if its something you would want to try out the next time it's offered.

Tonight we had the Haskews over for dinner. Justin came home at lunch to set out the rolls to rise (we bought new ones from the others ruined in our crap freezer) and he put two in each muffin tin. I guess I must ask, is it totally inappropriate to serve butt looking rolls to missionaries? Because we totally did.

On that note, I'm going to bed. I am pooped out.

Randomness

Yesterday I was driving home on the Broadway Extension and all of a sudden I see a big thing of smoke come out of someone's car. Then I smell burned rubber. I then saw a car do a 360 turn into the median where it hit the side barrier. The car seemed okay and both the people popped out, unhurt. When I drove by, it looked like they were laughing... so I hope they didn't do that on purpose just for a joyride.

We watched "Shaq Vs" last night. I thought it was going to be pretty stupid but I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. He was playing against Ben Rothlisberger (sp?) and my favorite quote of the night: "Interception by Shaq - and he wasn't even in the game!" It's pretty hysterical to watch Shaq try to sprint, too. He is just so big.

I think Justin is nesting. He has all these projects that he has to finish (or so he says) before Haylie comes. Like, a new side fence, replacing siding on the chimney, new lights in the showers...his list just goes on and on.

I'm sad that tonight was the last WOW class of the summer. Why can't it be year-round?

I have had the best time scheduling meals for the Haskews. It's been great talking and connecting to people through email and phone calls throughout the week. Makes me feel useful in God's kingdom.

I can't wait for Financial Peace to start. Hopefully Justin will "de-stress" once he realizes that he does have things organized well and we will be able to talk about something else. :)

Our freezer has gone ka-put. In fact, we were keeping a bag of Rhodes frozen rolls in there - ya know, the kind that have to rise before you bake them? They were in our freezer...and started to rise...in the bag. That's a sure sign your freezer is broken. :(

Justin just called me "Nugget Snot." The bad thing is, he meant to call me "Nugget Slice." Now that's love.

All Things Baby

25 weeks, 6 days
This is my favorite picture so far of being pregnant. Reasons why:
1. I actually LOOK pregnant
2. I look like I have a curve to my butt instead of it looking flat
3. My hair isn't as out of control as it usually is at 5:30 pm
4. I like the shirt I'm wearing

So far, everything is still going great! I feel good, minus the lower back pain. I was researching on Google today (because Google is right about everything) that maybe a reason for this is because I'm getting up and down too quickly. I thought I was being super awesome by still being so agile, but I'm going to try to slow down to see if it helps. I'm going to try a different sleeping arrangement, too. We'll see if any of it works out!

Last night I was eating from a bag of trail mix and I looked down because all of a sudden it moved! It was her!! So Justin and I kept watching the bag and it kept moving. Pretty awesome. She has been kicking me and moving a lot - I LOVE IT!!!

And we have also decided on a name. We can't wait to welcome to our family - Haylie Brooke.

Uppercase Living

My sister and I were thinking of hosting an Uppercase Living party. If you don't know what that is, Uppercase Living sells decals, embellishments, etc. that you can put on anything! You can order what they have in the catalog, or you can order something custom. You can put the decals on your wall like a sticker (although they peel right off if you want them to with no wall damage) or you can put them on something, like a canvas, window or even appliances. If you want to see some really cool examples, go to this website.

So if we had a party, would you want to come? Comment me if you would be interested!! This would be a good time to order easy to make Christmas gifts! *wink wink*

Top 5 Reasons I Don't like Vacation
1. I have to come home

3. Jellyfish (although apparently I should have brought one back for Gena)
4. Sunburns in places you just happen to forget to apply sunscreen to...

We Have a Problem...

So this morning started out like any other. Me getting up at the very last second and getting ready at lightening speed. Of course Caramel was up and about with me and waited patiently in the bathroom for me to finish showering. I walked back and forth in and out of the bathroom a few times and didn't notice a thing. Then as I was on my way into the bathroom for the last time, I see a ginormous spider on the floor right by the door jam. This is no ordinary spider. It could have eaten Caramel or my face. So, since Justin was sleeping ever so peacefully, I gasp and start screaming for him to get up. He flies out of bed to see this whopping huge spider on the floor and I'm holding Caramel back because she finally sees it and wants to play with it. After a few minutes of chasing the spider and finally killing it, my hands stop shaking.

But if you know me at all, I actually did very well in seeing this spider. Normally I all but pass out when seeing one of these nasty things. And no I did not take a picture because who wants to see that over and over?

But this is not the first spider we've had. Justin said he killed one twice that size two days ago in our guest room. This has been the 4th spider killed of THIS SIZE IN MY HOUSE.

Tonight we went to bible study and came home where I awesomely found another one IN THE KITCHEN. (Why am I the one who always finds these?) So now I am looking at every crevice, every little place they could be hiding and expecting one to be there.

Where do they come from?? Why are they here?? Do they touch my clothes, do they touch me when I'm sleeping??? I feel so itchy and disgusting now. Lord can only help me if I find one in my sheets. I might be coming to stay at your house.

We're Back!

I do not think I will sit ever again. I barely made it through the one day of 13.5 hours of driving. To say that I feel like someone is permanently smashing my spine down and my butt permanently flat might be a bit of an understatement. The plan wasn't to do all that driving in one day, but we both just wanted to get home. And good thing we did! Our lawn, which I sometimes say is a mini-jungle in Edmond, literally IS a jungle in Edmond. I am really surprised that we didn't have some nasty notice from the City of Edmond AND the City of Oklahoma City saying that our yard is a disgrace and you will be fined unless you take care of it!

Grasshoppers view of our grass. Pretty scary.

Overgrown garden...

For some reason 1/3 of our flowers died, but the rest are still growing like champs. Weird.

And to top all this - we had a very lonely kitty (her fault since she wouldn't come out to play when she had visitors) who wouldn't let us out of her sight for the rest of the evening once we got home. Then she decided that at 6:45 this morning, she had had enough alone time and needed attention.

Got lots of pictures and fun stories from a week at the beach, but until the chores from being away are done, I guess it will have to wait.

It's good to be home.

Miscellaneous

Well, it's that time. The night before the big vacation and where do you find me? Blog stalking and checking email. Yep, who cares about packing or cleaning my house so I'm not disgusted when I get home? Not me. In my defense, we just ate dinner so of course I need to sit for at least 30 minutes so I don't cramp. (Oh wait, that's swimming.) Either way, we'll get it done and be off tomorrow!!! Helloooo beach!!

It has been an extremely busy week, but that's the great part about it. It has flown by! My sister and I worked on the nursery a bit on Monday night. Below is a sneak peak of part of it. I ordered a wall vinyl off of Etsy. I was so excited to get it!! The instructions though were a little bizarre and told us to wet down the vinyl and stick it on the wall and squeege it out. Well, 24 hours later, yes it would stick. But the easy way is to just apply like a sticker! So, after messing with water and a mess on the wall for about 2 hours, we finally figured that just applying like a sticker works great and the rest was cake!
